Sports Essay competition $250 to be won

 

Monthly prize of $50 for the best sports related essay from a high school student

College Sports Scholarships is the proud sponsor of the national sports essay contest that offers high school students the opportunity to compete for a $250 annual and $50 monthly award for the best essay submitted.  The competition is open to students in the continental United States and U.S. terrritories, and to American schools and American home-schooled students worldwide.  We invite 9th - 12th grade students at all levels of academic placement to participate.

Your essay needs to be sports related. It could be about your favorite sport or team, the best game you have played or watched, your sports hero, college recruiting, amusing stories or just about anything just so long as it is about sport.

Essays must include a cover page with your name, grade, age, school, school address and the title of your essay. DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR HOME ADDRESS OR OTHER PERSONAL DETAILS,  WE WILL CONTACT YOU THROUGH YOUR SCHOOL.

Essays must be 800 words or less and be written in English.

You can submit essays that you have already written, we only stipulate that it has to be your own work and not published anywhere else.

Teachers may submit a group of essays from their grade if they wish. You need to enclose a list of students names and the name and contact information of the submitting teacher.

We will publish all essays that are of an acceptable standard. This is your chance to see your work published on a large education related website.

In 2004-05, the percentage of total undergraduate aid in the form of grants declined for the third year in succession. Undergraduates received forty-six percent of their aid in the form of grants. Graduate students received twenty-two percent of their aid in the form of grants.
