As a high school swimmer you are probably very good, maybe the best at your school, well here is a news flash. Unless you are in the top 5%, or elite category, swimming coaches wont come knocking on your door.

To get recruited, especially at Junior college level, you have to make it happen. You have to contact the coaches and let them know who you are and what you have to offer their swimming program.

Swimming and Diving is a division 1 only sport. 22 colleges offer scholarships to men and 21 for women.

The NJCAA allows 15 athletic scholarships per school for both men and women. These are full-ride scholarships but some schools offer partial grants in aid. Top athletes of course tend to receive the best offers.

Community colleges can only offer 15 swimming and diving scholarships per school, unlike the NCAA they cant offer a larger number of grants at a lower percentage.

JC coaches don’t have the big sports budgets that NCAA coaches have so they don’t actively recruit or hire scouts. Most JUCO coaches don’t allocate all of their recruiting budget each year simply because they were not approached by suitable athletes. We prepare a detailed athletic resume on your behalf and have it addressed and delivered to the head swimming and diving coach at every junior college in the country giving you the best possible chance of getting recruited.

Swimmers who are capable of competing and contributing in several events and strokes are sought after more than one or two event specialists. Versatility is highly prized by smaller teams that struggle to fill lanes during dual meets. Larger teams are able to be more selective and recruit more stroke specialists.
