Most college teams compete in the Intercollegiate Bowling Championships, which are administered by College Bowling USA, a primary resource and a governing body for the sport of bowling. Now teams will be allowed to compete in both the NCAA and the IBC championships. Not all athletic scholarships are full ride like football and basketball; so called "head count sports", most are classed as "equivalency sports", like women's bowling. This means that coaches can "share " their allocation between a larger number of athletes. There are 29 division 1 and 15 division 2 colleges that offer women's bowling scholarships. There are over 180 club teams currently in operation at NCAA member schools and it is anticipated that most will change to NCAA status over the next few years. When you consider these figures and factor in that colleges must grant more scholarships to women because of the application of title IX then it is obvious that college bowling is here to stay and is simply going to get bigger and better. If you are a young woman bowler who wants to apply for a college bowling scholarship then you should consider attending a showcase or bowling camp.
The Big 12 Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association is one of the most successful conferences in the NCAA. the league has been established for twelve years. The team that scored the touchdown has the option of trying to get the ball into the opponent's end zone again in just one running or passing play instead of kicking for the extra point. A standard croquet set comes with 4 mallets and 4 balls, and you may vary the game - for example, Four players can play independently with one ball each. The first references to the game of checkers are found as early as 1600 B.C. in Egyptian inscriptions and paintings. In England, Scotland, Australia and New Zealand the game is called draughts.
