If you are thinking about applying for a college volleyball scholarship then you might want to enroll in a sports camp or showcase. Volleyball camps will provide you with very specific additional training and development and as a bonus you get seen by the people that count, the college coaches. Most camps cater for either girls or boys of different age groups and skill levels.

There are a lot of great volleyball summer camps throughout the USA that will help you improve your skills including, elite volleyball clinics, volleyball instruction camps, volleyball showcases, college volleyball camps, college volleyball prospect camps and summer volleyball camps most of the year. Summer camp participants receive instruction in both advanced and basic volleyball strategy and skills. Individual attention is usually offered to all athletes and there is plenty of time devoted to actual game play.

Some of these camps will have college coaches coming to watch you play but make sure that you pick volleyball camps that are organized by the colleges and the college coach. You will get to see what the coach is looking for and YOU WILL BE SEEN.

Refining exposure and technique as well as learning advanced tactical aspects of the game is the key to the volleyball camp environment.

Well it’s a very simple answer, attend a summer volleyball camp at the college.
Volleyball camps are great fun but remember this: You must be on your best behavior and be punctual. Coaches want to see how you conduct yourself off the field as well.

VOLLEYBALL TRAINING TIP

Wait for the Set- Most of the time, Your opponent’s set will dictate when you retreat. The best time to turn and burn is when the set is well off the net. But remember that it also depends on the ability of the hitter facing you. If you are against a big banger, you will want to block more than you would against smaller players who like to shoot.
