BASKETBALL CAMPS COLLEGE SPORTS SUMMER CAMPS

IMPROVE YOUR BASKETBALL SKILLS ATTEND A SUMMER CAMP

There are some great basketball camps available for both men and women. A large number of colleges run their own camps as well over the summer. These basketball camps can provide you with very specific additional training and development and also get you noticed by the college basketball coaches.

Basketball summer camps are designed to improve your skills including Drills that concentrate on shooting, rebounding, passing, dribbling and defensive techniques. Most summer camps also include a lot of game play as well as a detailed skills evaluation by the coach.

Depending on your ability and goals you can choose from elite basketball clinics, basketball instruction camps, basketball showcases, college basketball camps, college basketball prospect camps and summer basketball camps.

Some of these camps will have college coaches attending to watch high school players in action but in my opinion you should attend basketball camps that are run by the colleges and the college coach. You will get to see what the coach is looking for and YOU WILL BE SEEN.

If you do decide to attend an elite camp or showcase, and some of them are really top class, you need to ask for the names of the college coaches who will be attending. Some of these camps advertise that they are inviting 100’s of coaches but this does not mean that they will actually attend.

I get asked by athletes all the time, “how can I get a basketball coach or scout come to watch me play”?

Summer sports camps are great fun but remember this: You must be on your best behavior and be punctual. Coaches want to see how you conduct yourself off the field as well.

BASKETBALL TRAINING TIP
If you want to play college hoops then you need to get into shape. You might have a bad day shooting but if your not in shape you will run out of puff during tryouts. The college coach will spot your lack of fitness in a second and your off his list.

1. Train Anerobically. Running long distances is great but you need to do sprints and dribble the ball at the same time.

2. Jump rope. use a heavy rope and jump each leg separate as well.

3. Run up stairs as often as you can.

Are you ready for the NEXT STEP!
