Softball

The NCAA back in the year 1910 officially began sanctioning College Softball, and began holding championships in the early 1980’s.
They also officially began sanctioning the sport of women’s college softball back in 1982.

College Softball Scholarships

When it comes to getting into a great college softball program, you have to be very pro-active in order to get into the program that will work best for you.
Remember that there are a limited amount of scholarships available, so make sure that you dominate your position.

Today there are more than 1,600 college softball programs across the country. That may sound like a lot, but when you start to take a closer look at some of those scholarship programs many of them may not be the right fit for you.
Many coaches have wide latitude when it comes to how they divide their scholarship money to fill positions that they may require for their softball season. Find a program that will work for the position that you play.

Small local community colleges have very limited funding so you need to take the bull by the horns and let these coaches know who you are and what you can bring to their softball program.

Women’s fast pitch softball

The original International Women’s Professional Softball Association was formed by women sports legends Janie Blaylock, Joan Joyce and Billie Jean King along with Jim Jorgensen and Dennis Murphy.
Several years later the NCAA began sanctioning the women’s college softball championships, and due to the sport’s popularity finally in 1997 the Women’s Pro Fast pitch (WPF) was established. Later in 1998, the game officials changed the name to the WPSL.

Summer is the start of the softball season in many areas of the country, and without a doubt this game is a great way for friends to get together and participate in something together.
Originally started by George Hancock, his idea for the game was that it would be played indoors. Today more than 40 million people [participate in this sport.

It’s not a season ending injury

You’re having a great season and all of a sudden you throw that one pitch, and then something doesn’t feel just quite right. You see the team’s sports doctor, and you find out that you’ve pulled a shoulder muscle. Your out for at least three weeks.

Think about your future.Take the time to properly recuperate from your injury, and then come back strong and fully recovered and ready to play again.

The Pacific-10 Conference is situated in the western part of the United States, the Pacific-10 Conference participates in the Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
The Pac 10 conference was founded back in 1915. Back then this conference was actually called the Pacific Coast Conference, and was comprised of just four founding colleges that included Washington University, and the University of California at Berkeley.

The Mid-American Conference was founded in 1946 and situated in Cleveland Ohio, the Mid Atlantic conference was originally meant to just have five athletic school leagues as part of the conference.
