Big Bend Community College Athletic Scholarships

Big Bend Community College (BBCC) is a community college offering two-year college. BBCC was established in 1962 and is found in Moses lake, Washington, USA. This rural college has more than 5,000 students. It offers associate degrees and certificate programs both in academic and vocational fields.

The Washington State Board of Education authorized BBCC in 1961 and started its regular classes by 1962. BBCC obtained its permanent campus set on a 159 acre land. The Northwest Commission on Colleges & Universities recognizes BBCC and its transfer credits. Education at BBCC is delivered either while on campus, through distance education locations and through online degree options. BBCC Partner locations are Grand Coulee, Warden, George, Soap Lake, George, Royal City, Mattawa, Quincy and Othello.

Athletics Department of Big Bend Community College

The athletics department is responsible for the maintenance of a collegiate sports line up. Recruiting athletes are the first step to reach this important goal. Training the athletes to improve skills and maximize their talents or abilities is also just as significant as preparing the each team for the competition. Participating in intercollegiate sports is vital in gaining precious skills and traits needed to succeed in every aspect of one’s life.

Encouragement of student involvement in activities produced by student organizations and clubs is relevant at BBCC. This is to further develop growth of each individual and promote good standing in the society. Intercollegiate sports also is promoted throughout the school year. Recreation and fun starts with intramural sports, school events, trips, athletics and other fun filled school activities.

OFFICIAL SPORTS TEAM: Big Bend Vikings

The Vikings are an official representative of Big Bend Community College in all intercollegiate sports events. The teams consist of 5 athletic programs. Sports include men’s baseball and basketball; women’s basketball, volleyball and softball. The team is affiliated with the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges.

Guide to Athletic Scholarship at Big Bend Community College

Big Bend Community College has organized financial aid programs in order for those students to continue college. There are Grants or Tuition waivers, employment, loans and scholarships as part of the financial assistance program. Grants include the  Federal PELL Grant, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG), Washington State Need Grant, and the Washington State Tuition Waiver/Tuition Grant. Employment includes the Federal work-study and the State work-study programs. Loans consist of the Federal Ford Direct Loan which is either subsidized or not, the Federal Perkins Loan and the Federal PLUS Loan.

Scholarships consist of the Foundation scholarship, the miscellaneous scholarships and the Dreamers Aid. Athletic Scholarship includes the David Wyrick Memorial scholarship, the Grant County Seahawkers Scholarship and the Ryan Floch memorial Scholarship.
