The Baptist Bible College and Seminary started offering college-level classes in 1972 and introduced graduate level academics in 1989. The Baptist Bible College is located in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania and has a student body of less than 1,000. Academic degrees offered at the BBC include certificate, associate, bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees. Undergraduate programs include a one-year bible certificate, an associate of arts, bachelor’s degrees in science, the arts or sacred music, and three graduate degree options. There are also three undergraduate degrees and two doctorate degrees in seminary studies. All classes are offered either in a class setting on through online distance learning.

The Athletics Department at Baptist Bible College and Seminary offers varsity sports with an emphasis on team-building, school spirit and one-on-one support for student-athletes from the dedicated staff and coaches. Athletic training, sports medicine, and academic support are integral parts of the BBC athletic department, ensuring that student-athletes achieve their highest potential.
Athletic facilities at Baptist Bible College and Seminary include 3 soccer fields, the Coach Huckaby Gym for basketball and volleyball, a softball field, and the off-campus Birchwood Tennis Club. There is also a fitness center, weight room, aerobic room, basketball courts and an indoor track at the recreation center.
Athletic Programs at Baptist Bible College and Seminary
Varsity sports at Baptist Bible College and Seminary include men’s baseball, cross country, golf, basketball, soccer and tennis, and women’s basketball, cross country, softball, volleyball, tennis and soccer. In addition, there are intramural sports offered on a seasonal basis. These include soccer, softball, volleyball, basketball and dodgeball. Each sport has a men’s and women’s team, except for dodgeball, which is co-ed. For students who do not want to play team sports, there are fitness opportunities at the fitness center.
Official Sports Team: Defenders
The Bible Baptist College Defenders is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III and the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II. The Defenders compete in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. The BBC Defenders hold a total of 23 NCCAA National Championships in six varsity sports, as well as 75 NCCAA East Regional Championships in seven varsity sports.
Guide to Athletic Scholarships for Baptist Bible College and Seminary
Students at Baptist Bible College and Seminary who wish to apply for scholarships are required to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Students who maintain at GPA of at least 2.0 may be awarded anywhere from $11,000 to $23,000 in scholarships over the course of four years. Scholarships include the BBC Grant worth $2,750 to $5,750, the Presidential Scholarship of $5,000, the Deans Scholarship of $3,000, and the Christian Leadership Scholarship of $1,000. There are also 11 other grant and scholarship opportunities ranging in value from $250 to $1,500 for both freshmen and transfer students. Requirements for the scholarships above differ, but in general require good academic standing and in some cases, financial need.
