Athletics Department of Albright College
The Athletics Department of Albright College exerts tremendous efforts to keep its students healthy and safe believing that alert mind and fit body should complete the wellness of a student. Athlete and non-varsity students who respond to department’s cause are usually seen at the Albright Athletic and Fitness Complex which includes the Schumo Center for Fitness and Well-Being, which has free weights, nautilus equipments, and cardio equipments to give them a good workout, Athletes and Non-varsity students who organize intramurals can avail of facilities like the Bollman Center Gymnasium, which can be utilized for basketball and volleyball games the Life Sports Center, which includes an indoor track and field facility and has basketball and tennis usage, and the Natatorium, a six lane pool open to the community. Other facilities mostly use by the athletes are the Gene L. Shirk Stadium, Kelchner Field, Softball Field, and the North Hall Field.

The athletic programs of Albright College attract student-athletes who are sports-loving and willing to explore all potentials of college activities. Several varsity-level sports team for men and women are sponsored by Albright. Club teams and seasonal intramural teams have full support from the college also. Men’s sports include Baseball, Basketball, Cross-Country, Football, Golf, Soccer, Swimming, Tennis and Track & Field. Women compete in Basketball, Cheerleading, Cross-Country, Field Hockey, Soccer, Softball and Swimming. The sports teams compete in the Middle Atlantic Conference, National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). The Middle Atlantic Conference is considered by many as the strongest Division III competition.

With screaming fans on the sidelines of the basketball court at the college’s Bollman Center, members of Albright College Lions basketball team inspirational scores to lift the team to victory. The scenario of this kind is not uncommon to the Lions. They have a long list of sports heroes and hall of fame athletes in their long history. Recently honored was the 1960 Football Team, the only unbeaten and untied team in their sports annals. In modern times, Albright swimming captured the 2013 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC} Championship and coach of the year honor. In the same year, the women’s field hockey team was cited as one of the most improved.
