Founded in 1831, Xavier University is located in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is a catholic university that was founded in 1831 by the Jesuits.
The University has three colleges that offer seventy eight undergraduate majors, forty three minors and eleven graduate programs from within the colleges of Social Sciences, Arts and Sciences, Williams College of business and Health and Education. Pre-Professional and a variety of minors are also offered including; dentistry, medicine, pharmacy, law and veterinary medicine.

Xavier University's undergraduate students have to complete a significant number of distribution requirements that are also known as the Core Curriculum. These required courses are in: Philosophy, Theology, History, Mathematics, Fine Arts, Physical Science, Foreign Language, Literature, and the Social Sciences.

The University has a student population of nearly 7,000 which includes approx. 4,000 undergraduates.

Athletics:

Xavier University is a member institution of the National Collegiate Athletic Conference, Division I, Atlantic Ten Conference.

The University sponsors 8 intercollegiate sports for women, and eight sports for men. The College has a graduation rate of 94% which is the third highest graduation rate for student-athletes in the USA behind Stanford and Duke universities.
