Vincennes University

The university was founded in 1801, VU is now embarking on its third century of providing top quality education. VU is Indiana's first college and is one of the oldest in America. It is the birthplace of one of the nation's first two-year institutions of higher learning.

Founded in 1801 and incorporated as Vincennes University November 29, 1806, VU is one of only two U.S. colleges founded by a President of the United States. William Henry Harrison founded VU and Thomas Jefferson founded the University of Virginia.

While VU has a great historic legacy, it is also a vibrant, modern, technologically advanced college. Well known for its technical capabilities, VU has been listed among "Yahoo! Internet Life" magazine's top ten "most wired" two-year colleges for the second consecutive year.

The university believes that sports play an important role in the overall purpose of an educational institution.
 
The college supports a well-rounded intercollegiate sports program for both men and women and has a strong presence in the NJCAA where they can claim several national championships. But VU is equally proud of Their individual All-American and All-American Academic athletes who have used their talent to continue their education at four-year colleges.

The leading causes of death in industrialized nations are lifestyle diseases, caused in part by smoking, poor diet, lack of exercise and poor stress management.

Volleyball Is My Life by Victoria Nichols.  I love spending weekends playing in tournaments all over eastern Pennsylvania. When AAU is over, I begin training and practicing during the summer to prepare myself for the season ahead. I cannot get enough of the sport; I am addicted.
