Tiffin University was founded in 1888 and now offers nationally accredited graduate and undergraduate degrees in business administration, bachelor's and master's degrees in criminal justice and social sciences, and distinctive degrees in the sciences and arts.

All through its history, the University  has nurtured a student-centric setting and a sense of community for its students, faculty and staff.

For over 100 years Tiffin University has developed a special niche among Ohio's independent universities and colleges and has remained one of the least expensive private colleges in the state of Ohio.

The campus at Tiffin University is a combination of traditional historic and modern buildings that create a vibrant and warm home for an educational community. In addition to the growth at Tiffin, graduate and undergraduate programs of the College are offered online and at Toledo, Columbus, Fremont and Lima, Ohio, and at several other places in the Greater Cleveland area. The MBA is also offered at Bucharest, Romania.

  The institution  is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, and the American Mideast Conference.

Tiffin University participates in intercollegiate athletics for men in baseball, football, golf, soccer, basketball, cross-country, tennis and track and field.

Women's intercollegiate athletics are available in the sports of basketball, softball, tennis, cross-country, golf, soccer, track and field and volleyball.

The University is committed to the belief that an athlete's success in life is contingent upon the athlete's commitment to the principles of honor both on and off the sports field. The Athletic Department of the University states that it will promote a spirit of competition that concentrates on the development of leadership skills, involvement and participation of non-athletic personnel in the support of intercollegiate competitive contests, and a sense of unity among all members of the Tiffin University Community.
