Tennessee Wesleyan college is located on a hill 2 blocks north of the courthouse square, the 40 acre, tree-lined campus of Tennessee Wesleyan College provides a tranquil, serene setting for students.

Athens, the county seat of McMinn County with a population of fifteen thousand is situated near I-75 midway between Knoxville and Chattanooga in the middle of the Sweetwater Valley. Less than an one hour’s drive east of Athens are the Great Smoky Mountains and the Cherokee National Forest, and to the west lies the Cumberland Plateau.

Though a small college, Tennessee Wesleyan has significantly influenced the region it serves, as well as 1000's of alumni. Scholars have included future leaders in church, education, law, medicine, music, science,  government, and public affairs.

Tennessee Wesleyan College is a member institution of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and participates in NAIA Division II, Region XII. The College is also a member of the respected Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC), and fields teams in men's and women's soccer, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's golf, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, softball, baseball and women's volleyball.
