The University was founded in 1884, Temple University is a world-class center for research, teaching and healthcare. The institution is a major international university, with campuses in both Rome and Tokyo; the college also conducts successful educational programs in many other parts of the world.

Temple is one of Pennsylvania's three public research universities. The other two research institutions are Penn State University and the University of Pittsburgh.

Temple University offers 300 plus degree programs from seventeen colleges and schools and four professional schools that include schools of Law, Podiatry, Medicine, Pharmacy and Dentistry, and a world renowned Health Sciences Center.

Temple University is situated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA with 5 regional campuses, including the Main Campus, Center City Campus and the Health Sciences Campus in Philadelphia. Suburban campuses are located in Ambler and the Tyler School of Art in Elkins Park. The institution also has education centers in Harrisburg and Fort Washington. As well as the international campuses in Rome and Tokyo the University also offers educational programs in Great Britain, France, the People's Republic of China, Greece, Israel and many other countries.
