TRACK AND FIELD TRAINING TIP You need to include some basic circuits into you stretching program twice or three times a week usually after your easy runs. Crunches, press-ups, lower abs (very important), squats, hyperextensions. These exercises are designed to condition your body and wont build up your cardiovascular fitness. You will find that this extra strength will be a big benefit to you especially in difficult sections of a cross-country race. Track and field essays from high school runners.

The pursuit of excellence is based on uncovering
the talents, skills and abilities that lie inside each of us.
Athletes learn to sharpen and train those talents
so they can use
them on purpose. Performance, in a nutshell, comes from within.
Track
Running by T'keyah Bell. Throughout those years of running track it
began to feel good about knowing that it was what I wanted to do, not
only that it was what I loved to do. Running track became more
passionate to me then any other sport. Last year 2008 was unforgettable
I accomplished more than I could have ever imagined.
Track Running
And Me by Tyler Ishmael. My first running sport was in the spring; I started track knowing
that I would be doing long distance. When I first started I was
pretty fast in the mile and later I was also good at the 800 meters.
As the Boston
Marathon quickly approaches, both runners and coaches agree that
mental preparedness can make or break a runner’s performance on
the big day. The 1st
Boston Marathon was held on Patriot's Day, April 19, 1897, a little
over a year after the running of the 1st Olympic marathon in Athens.
