There are some great football camps on offer many covering all aspects of the game and others concentrating on defense, offense or kicking. There are also camps for quarterbacks and receivers.

Most leading universities run their own camps as well over the summer. These football camps can provide you with very specific additional training and development and also get you noticed by the college football coaches.

most camp programs feature scrimmages and full contact drills and are usually staffed by college and high school coaches, college players and NFL players.

Camps stress both team play and individual positions and with each participant.

Football camps are designed to improve your skills and also include a lot of game play as well as a detailed skills evaluation by the coach.

Depending on your ability and goals you can choose from elite football clinics, football instruction camps, football showcases, university football camps, college football prospect camps and summer football camps. Some of these camps will have college coaches attending to watch high school football players in action but nothing beats attending a football camp that is organized by the college and the college coach. You will get to see what the coach is looking for and YOU WILL BE SEEN.

If you do decide to attend an elite camp or showcase then you should ask for the names of the college coaches who will be attending to watch you play. Some of these camps advertise that they are inviting 100's of coaches but this does not mean that they will actually attend.

I get asked by athletes all the time, "how can I get a football coach or scout come to watch me play"?

Well it's a very simple answer, attend college football camp.

FOOTBALL TRAINING TIP

When you are blocking a defender you need to make sure that you are trying to drive or push the defender in the direction that you want him to go. A lot of young football players do not not keep their feet moving when they block. They reach the defender then slow down and try to use upper body strength to do the work. Keep moving forward and push.
