The Oklahoma City Miken Fastpitch softball bat is the newest of the Miken
Sports bats on the market. They have tried to improve on the existing E-Flex
Technology to make an even better performing bat. This new and improved
technology is supposed to have even greater performance and unmatched
durability. You are going to get a better product that is going to last
longer and not need to be replaced anytime soon.
There was plenty of excitement as the girls got ready to try this newest
bat, revealing to us that Miken has become a “big name” bat among the high
school-aged fast pitch set. Great for Miken, but that usually doesn’t bode
well for testing as when the expectations are that high to begin with it
becomes harder for the bat to impress. But the OKC didn’t seem to suffer too
much from the handicap of high expectations.
Everyone who was big enough to hit the Oklahoma City – we hit a 33”/24 oz.
version – had good things to say about it. A couple of the smaller girls who
found the bat heavy shortened their swings and got good results as well. The
balanced feel was nice and the bat didn’t swing too heavy (was true to its
posted weight). And none of the hitters experienced any sting on balls hit
anywhere along the barrel.
All of the girls liked the Oklahoma City and most of them liked it as much
as the bat they currently use. Approximately half of the hitters preferred
it to the bat they currently use.
