Saint Vincent College and Archabbey was founded in 1846 by Boniface Wimmer, a monk from the Benedictine Abbey of Metten in Bavaria.

Saint Vincent College is a Catholic, coeducational, liberal arts school sponsored by the Benedictine Monks of Saint Vincent Archabbey, the 1st Benedictine foundation in the USA , founded in 1846.

Saint Vincent College is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

The College is located on a 200 acre suburban campus in Unity Twp. near Latrobe, Thirty-Five miles east of Pittsburgh on U.S. Route 30 East.

Saint Vincent College has been repeatedly ranked in national publications: Barron's Three-hundred Best Buys in College Education; Money magazine (top Fifteen best values in the U.S., small liberal arts schools); U.S. News and World Report Guide to America's Best Colleges; National Review: Guide to America's Top Liberal Arts Colleges (top Sixty in the country); Princeton Review; others.

    Saint Vincent College believes that physical activity is an essential aspect of a well-rounded education. The School is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association- Division-III.

The following varsity sports are offered:

Men: Baseball, Basketball, Cross-Country, Football, Golf, Lacrosse, Soccer, Swimming, Tennis and Track & Field.

Women: Basketball, Cross Country, Field Hockey, Golf, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tennis and Volleyball.

The athletic teams at Arizona State University compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I PAC-10 Conference.
