pearl river COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Pearl River Junior College has 2 campuses...one in Poplarville and one in Hattiesburg.
The main campus at Poplarville is located on U.S. Highway 11. The Forrest County Center is situated in Hattiesburg on U.S. Highway 49 South.

PRCC was originally founded as the Pearl River County Agricultural High School in 1909 and became the first community college in the state of Mississippi in 1921. Some of the buildings date back from the early 20's, but have been well maintained over the years and serve as landmarks on the modern college campus. 

Pearl River is known for its competitive spirit in all sports, regardless of whether the sport is football, men's or women's basketball, baseball, women's softball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's soccer, or golf.
 
Pearl River Community College athletes have excelled in all areas of achievement. Heading into the 21st century, The River's winning tradition is as vibrant and alive as it has been throughout its long and colorful history.

In 2003-2004 The Wildcats made junior college history when they swept the four major men's sports in the state championship races. That year they won state championships in men's soccer, football, basketball, and baseball.

No other junior college in Mississippi history has been able to achieve the kind of success that Pearl River Community College has achieved this past school year, dating back to the start of Junior College athletic competition in the 1920s. When Pearl River President William Lewis became athletic director  in 2001.

The Wildcats can boast an incredible four MACJC (Mississippi Association of Community/Junior Colleges) state championships in men's basketball and men's soccer. football and baseball.
