Don't limit yourself on your thinking about what tools or resources you can use; make sure you include everything that is relevant in your athletic profile. On the other hand don't blitz a coach with so much material that they simply don't look at it. If a college does show interest you can always send more information.

Letters of recommendation from your high school and club coaches.

Newspaper articles about you and the teams you play for.

Attend camps, tournaments, and such for the valuable exposure you will get. Attend college camps if you can. The Camp Director is usually the college head coach.

Videotape of you in action. Game tape, skills tape and a combo of both if possible.

Completing and returning any request from a coach immediately. If a coach is asking for more information then you are probably being considered so carefully prepare all replies. if necessary have someone help you.

Ask your high school coach to complete and return any requests for information about you as soon as possible.

Use the internet. Visit college sports sites and college sites and collect as much information about potential student athletes as you can.

It was hard at first because usually in order to go far in such a competitive sport one needs to start out at an early age. Like my sister, she started at the age of five and now plays Division I softball for George Washington University.
