Ohio Dominican University is a private Catholic liberal arts college, guided in its educational mission by the Dominican motto, "To contemplate truth and to share with others the fruits of this contemplation."

The University was founded in 1911 as the College of Saint Mary of the Springs, Ohio Dominican University offers a fully accredited, high quality, career-oriented education in a very distinctive setting. The College is situated on Sixty-Two beautifully wooded acres. The Ohio Dominican University liberal arts curriculum teaches skills that are valuable in every life and career. The University's nationally acclaimed Humanities program is at the very center of every student's academic study at the university.

As part of a plan to become one of the country's preeminent Catholic colleges, Ohio Dominican  has recruited the largest class in its 95-year history. Total enrollment at the school's main campus and branch sites at Easton and Dublin stands at 2,942 students (Fall 2005).

    The college attributes the admissions success to an aggressive regional recruitment effort as well as new educational programming, including new graduate programs, new majors, and an expansion of extracurricular activities.

As part of the institution's strategic plan, more focus has been placed on providing increased activities for residential students.

Ohio Dominican College  competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and offers the following intercollegiate sports:

Baseball, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Men's Tennis, Women's Tennis, Women's Volleyball, Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, Softball, and Men's and Women's Golf and Cross Country. The Ohio Dominican Football Panthers play in the Mid-States Football Association of the NAIA.

 

According to the Encyclopedia Britannica Archery ranks in importance as a cultural advance with the development of speech and the art of making fire.

Recognizing cheerleading as a sport by Kelsey Synder I am writing my essay based on cheerleading, so many people do not believe that cheering is a sport. I have been a cheerleader since I was nine years old. I started cheering for the county on a Pop Warner team so I learned basic skills and the thrill of a football game and competitions.

The sports teams at Albright College compete in the NCAA Division III Middle Atlantic Conference; the school is also affiliated with the Eastern College Athletic Conference.
