Most college athletic scholarships are not full ride like football and basketball which are called "head count sports"; most are classified by the NCAA as "equivalency sports", like college wrestling. This means that wrestling coaches can share their wrestling recruiting budget between a larger number of wrestlers.

Wrestling:

NCAA  DI 9.9 scholarships per college.
NCAA  DII 9 scholarships per college. Junior College wrestling is a division I men's sport. The NJCAA grants sixteen scholarships per college. It is up to the individual college to decide on what percentage the scholarship will but only sixteen can be granted. There are forty six community colleges that offer wrestling scholarships.

If you want to apply for a wrestling scholarship at NCAA level then you need to first register and be certified by the NCAA Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse. Take a look at our NCAA Academic Eligibility page to gauge what initial-eligibility standards you need to reach.

A good way to get noticed is to attend a wrestling camp or showcase. College wrestling camps provide you with both extra development and training and get you seen by the college coach.

College-style wrestling is also known as scholastic or folkstyle wrestling. This form of wrestling that is native to the United States.
