SOUTHERN CONFERENCE

The Southern Conference is the 5th oldest NCAA Division I collegiate athletic association in the country Only the Pacific 10 (1915), the Big Ten (1896), the Southwestern Athletic (1920) and the Missouri Valley (1907) conferences are older.

The Southern Conference is renowned for its premier Football Championship Subdivision conference. Southern Conference member institution, Appalachian State, has won the last two Football Championship Subdivision titles. The Conference currently consists of eleven member schools throughout the Southeast and sponsors nineteen varsity sports and championships

The Southern Conference headquarters is situated in the historic Beaumont Mill in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
