NCAA California Collegiate Athletic Association
DIVISION II
The California Collegiate Athletic
Association (CCAA) was formed in December 1938 and is considered to
be one of the country’s most successful intercollegiate athletic
conferences.
The California Collegiate Athletic Association is a twelve member
league that comprises some of the best NCAA Division II athletic
programs. These member institutions are, California Polytechnic State University
Pomona, California State Bakersfield, California State Dominguez
Hills, California State L.A., California State San Bernardino,
California State Stanislaus, California State Chico, University of
California San Diego, San Francisco State and Sonoma State.
California State University, Monterey Bay has been granted
provisional status as a CCAA member.
Member colleges compete in six men’s and seven women’s sponsored
sports. Fall sports include women's and men’s cross country, women's
and men’s soccer and women’s volleyball.

Winter sports include Men’s and women’s
basketball, women’s tennis, men’s golf, men’s and women’s outdoor track
& field. Spring sports are softball and baseball.
CCAA members have won one hundred and forty five NCAA Championships
(47 women and 98 men) the most number of championships in the
division II of the NCAA.
The California Collegiate Athletic Association member colleges have
been very successful in the twenty five year history of NCAA women’s
athletics, having won 6 track & field, ten cross country, 8
softball, 5 volleyball and 5 basketball national championships
as well as eighteen more in 4 other sports. |
