The Atlantic Hockey Association was founded on June 30, 2003, by 9
charter member institutions.
The Atlantic Hockey association became the sixth Division-I men’s ice hockey conference
and came into being because the founding members - Holy Cross, Mercyhurst, American International, Bentley, Canisius,
Connecticut, Sacred Heart, Quinnipiac and the
United States Military Academy (Army) - wanted a conference that
addressed their specific hockey needs.
Member colleges of Atlantic Hockey had a total of 295 student-athletes
who have received All-Academic honors by the Atlantic Hockey
Association. Last year, lover 100 student-athletes achieved a 3.0 GPA
or higher during both the Fall and Spring semester and subsequently

A total of Eighty eight student athletes were named to the 2003-04 Atlantic
