BIG TEN CONFERENCE

The Big Ten Conference is the oldest Division I college athletic conference in the United States. The conference is made up of eleven member universities situated in the Midwestern United States.

The Big Ten was established in 1896 and its eleven member schools share a common mission of research, graduate, professional and undergraduate teaching and public service. These colleges maintain a comprehensive set of shared principles and policies that enforce the priority of academic achievement for student athletes. Big Ten universities give out $94 million in direct financial aid to over eight thousand four hundred women and men student-athletes who compete for twenty five championships, 13 for women and 12 for men.

The Big Ten offers the following intercollegiate sports:

Women’s sports:

Basketball, Cross Country, Field Hockey, Golf, Gymnastics, Indoor Track and Field, Rowing, Soccer, Softball, Swimming and Diving, Tennis, Outdoor Track and Field and Volleyball.

Men’s Sports:

Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, golf, Gymnastics, Indoor Track and Field, Soccer, Swimming and Diving, Tennis, Outdoor Track and Field and Wrestling.
