Big East conference
The Big East Conference of the National Collegiate
Athletic Association has seventeen member college situated in the
Midwest, southeast and northeast of the USA. the conference sponsors 23
NCAA sports. The Big East conference was formed in 1979. For the past three years the league has been the largest Division I-A conference in the country. More than three hundred and fifty student-athletes have earned Academic All-America honors. Over five hundred and fifty BIG EAST athletes have taken out All America status and many have won individual NCAA national championships. The following sports are offered: Baseball, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Cross Country, Field Hockey, Football, Golf, Women's Lacrosse, Women's Rowing, Women's Soccer, Men's Soccer, Softball, Swimming and Diving, Tennis, Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track and Field and Women's Volleyball. |
