The TranSouth Athletic Conference (TSAC) was formed in 1996 and was composed of many colleges from the Tennessee Collegiate Athletic Conference (TCAC). The conference changed its name to TranSouth Athletic Conference before to the 1996-97 academic year.


The TSAC is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and is a perennial power with several national championships. Conference member schools have fielded NAIA national champions in
men's basketball, women's basketball,  baseball, women's soccer, cycling and wrestling

The TranSouth will have 8 member schools for the 2005-06 athletic year. Those institutions span the States of Tennessee,
Arkansas and Mississippi..

    The TSAC will expand to Eleven schools with the start of the 2006-07 academic year as Bethel College (McKenzie, Tennessee.), Lambuth University (Jackson, Tennessee.), and Mid-Continent University (Mayfield, Ky.) will join the conference

The following intercollegiate sports are offered:

Women's Cross Country, Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, Golf and Tennis.

Men's Cross Country, Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, Golf and Tennis.
