midwest classic conference region VII

The Midwest Classic Conference comprises 8 private colleges and universities in an athletic affiliation that features thirteen varsity level sports for women and men.

MCC sports compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and routinely send qualifying teams and individual athletes to national tournaments.

The MCC started as a basketball conference prior to the 1988-89 season.  By the time the 1988 academic year began, the sports of men's soccer and women's volleyball were also recognized as conference sports, providing the league with 2 male and 2 female sports.  The league was founded and remains affiliated nationally with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.

In 1989, Grand View College (Des Moines, IA) replaced Edgewood College and the league changed its name to the Midwest Classic Conference.
