mid south conference region XI

On April 24, 1995, the presidents of member institutions met in Nashville, Tennessee and agreed to form the Mid-South Conference of the NAIA to serve as the competitive base for their entire college sports programs.

The move in reality merged the athletic pursuits of similar schools. The conference is unique in its broad based athletic competition for women and men, offering championships in Fifteen sports.

The presidents of each college is a member of the Board of Directors which directly oversees the conference and the office of the commissioner. This administrative "hands on" role of each school's president is unique among athletic conferences and ensures a proper balance in the academic pursuits of student athletes.

True to its commitment to broad based athletic competition, the Mid-South Conference recognizes the value of extensive campus based sports programs that maximize the opportunities for athletic competition among their students. the Mid-South conference is a proud member of the National Association Of Intercollegiate Athletics.

The following intercollegiate sports are offered:

Women's Cross Country, Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, Golf, Tennis, and Track & Field.

Men's Cross Country, Football, Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, Golf, Tennis, and Track & field.

Badminton's popularity grew in the 20th century and it soon became a major racquet sport worldwide with the establishment of the International Badminton Federation in 1934.
