American midwest conference region V The purpose of the American Midwest Conference is to promote the positive ideals and objectives of athletics, to provide an organization of colleges and universities with similar foundations to engage in athletic contests on an equal basis,
to serve as a forum to formulate and solve common problems, to enhance and preserve athletics in their true perspective and to promote athletics in an academic environment. The American Midwest Conference is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). McKendree College's students have included many who became pioneers in business and industry, some became governors and senators and career public servants. The following intercollegiate sports are offered:

Better health is an individual responsibility, and, says the president, it is an important national goal. We're making great progress in preventing and detecting and treating many chronic diseases by implementing our health and fitness inititive, and that's good for America.
Many people who are health-conscious try to eat a high-carbohydrate, low-fat diet. One reason this type of diet has been recommended is that with less fat intake, there is less fat stored.
The results of the first survey of young disabled people's participation in, and attitudes towards, sport have just been revealed in a report. Young people with physical, learning, sensory, and/or multiple disabilities between the ages of 6 - 16 were surveyed.
Exercise is essential for lifelong weight control and good health. People who successfully lose weight and keep it off almost always exercise daily.
