The records show that student influence and organizational work of St. Louis Baptist leaders, pastors, and laymen influenced the Missouri Baptist Convention to adopt a motion in 1960 to "approve the establishment of a Baptist university in greater St. Louis." The 1st meeting of the Board of Trustees for Missouri Baptist University was held in Jan. 1964. Dr. Frank Kellogg served as the 1st chairman of the Board of Trustees and later as the school's 2nd president. McKendree College's students have included many who became pioneers in business and industry, some became governors and senators and career public servants.

Missouri Baptist University is a member college of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletic (NAIA) and offers the following intercollegiate sports: Baseball (M), Basketball (M), Basketball (W), Bowling (M), Bowling (W), Cheerleading, Cross Country (M), Cross Country (W), Golf (M), Golf (W), Lacrosse (M), Lacrosse (W), Soccer (M), Soccer (W), Softball (W), Tennis (M/W), Track & Field (M/W), Volleyball (M), Volleyball (W) and  Wrestling (M).

Most leading colleges universities, including community colleges, run their own softball camps as well over the summer. These softball camps can provide you with very specific additional development and training and also get you noticed by the college softball coaches.

Many athletes do their best during practice and find that they “choke” during competition. Choking is defined as a decrease in performance due to too much perceived stress.

A successful effort to reward employees for losing weight could become a model for other companies concerned about employee health and healthcare costs.

Football players and heat stress. The standard uniform, which covers nearly the entire body and incorporates thick, rigid materials, does not allow for safe heat transfer and body temperature regulation in hot environments.
