About ninety six percent of the college's students receive some form of financial aid that included both academic scholarships and need-based grants. Milligan College is a member institution of the National Association of Intercollegiate athletics and competes in the NAIA Appalachian Athletic Conference in fourteen intercollegiate sports: for men, baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, and tennis; and women's, basketball, cross country, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball. The College has won more than thirty one conference titles and qualified for thirty seven national championship tournament berths over the past ten years.
Athletic scholarships are grants or awards of money that help you finance all or part of your university education. The amounts awarded can vary from as little as $500 to as much as $30,000. Athletic scholarships are granted to student-athletes in return for competing on a college's sports team. The Southern Conference is renowned for its premier Football Championship Subdivision conference. Southern Conference member institution, Appalachian State, has won the last two Football Championship Subdivision titles.
