As a high school bowler you are probably very good, maybe the best at your school,  well here is a news flash. Unless you are in the top 5%, or elite category, don't expect the college bowling coaches to knock on your door. If you want to be recruited, especially at junior college level, you have to make it happen.

You have to contact the bowling coaches and let them know who you are and what you have to offer their college bowling program.

NJCAA bowling is a single division sport.

The NJCAA allows 8 bowling scholarships per school. There are 22 colleges that grant bowling scholarships for men and 21 colleges offer scholarships to women.

You should also be aware that the NCAA has classified bowling as an emerging sport so some scholarships can be offered.

Community college coaches don't have the large athletic budgets that NCAA college coaches have so they cant actively recruit athletes or hire scouts. Many JUCO coaches don't allocate all of their bowling recruiting budget each year simply because they were not approached by suitable bowlers.

A good place to begin your journey to college is our Frequently Asked questions page and then have a look at the Timeline page.
