IOWA LAKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Iowa Lakes Junior College is a two-year institution located in the rural northwest part of the state of Iowa in the Iowa Great Lakes region.

Founded in 1967, Iowa Lakes provides affordable education to the residents of northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota.

Students can choose to take classes during the day or evenings or weekends from any of the school's five sites.

The college is dedicated to serving the changing needs of its communities and its students. It has an interactive distance learning system via television and the Iowa Communications Network (ICN).

Presently, over 3,600 students are enrolled in the career option, liberal arts, and vocational-technical programs as well as other programs. In addition, Continuing Education helps to provide lifelong learning opportunities as well as workplace training. The College is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Institutions of Higher Education.

Intercollegiate Athletics

Iowa Lakes Community College is a member of the Iowa Junior College Conference. Teams have competed in district and regional competition within Iowa and nationally. The men's basketball team finished second in the 1992 NJCAA Division II Championships and fourth in 1994. In 1997, 1998 and 1999 we have qualified individuals for the National Division II Golf Championships.
