You don't have to be in the top 5% of you're sport to be offered athletic scholarships. You might not be offered a full-ride sports scholarship at a Division 1 college but 60% might still make your dream come true. I keep telling Athletes everyday, "COLLEGE COACHES CAN'T RECRUIT YOU IF THEY DON'T KNOW YOU ARE OUT THERE." What does it take to play college sports and be in the running for athletic scholarships? Consider the following...... G. Grades. Do you have the grades or test scores to gain admission to college? A. Ability. Do you have the athletic skills that a college coach values? M. Motivation. How hard are you prepared to work to get a scholarship? E. Exposure. Are you ready to market yourself to the college coaches? These are just a few things you need to consider but the most important thing is your level of commitment towards achieving your goal of being awarded an athletic scholarship and playing college sport. Unless you are a blue-chip athlete then don't expect college coaches to just knock on your door. You have to make it happen. Atlantic Sun Conference The Atlantic Sun Conference of the NCAA is a college athletic conference which is situated mainly on the east coast of the USA. Atlantic Sun is a Division I conference and one of the few that does not sponsor football. The Big 12 Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association is one of the most successful conferences in the NCAA. the league has been established for twelve years. Big East Conference More than three hundred and fifty student-athletes have earned Academic All-America honors. Over five hundred and fifty BIG EAST athletes have taken out All America status and many have won individual NCAA national championships. Baseball Camps I Basketball Camps I The Big Sky Conference was founded in 1963. It's member universities are located in the western United states covering Arizona, California, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Colorado, Idaho and Washington. There are many soccer camps throughout the USA that will help you improve your skills including, elite soccer clinics, soccer instruction camps, soccer showcases, college soccer camps, college soccer prospect camps.Big South Conference. Football became a conference sport in 2002 bringing the number of Division I championship sports programs the Big South sponsors to eighteen. Most leading colleges universities, including community colleges, run their own softball camps as well over the summer. These softball camps can provide you with very specific additional development and training and also get you noticed by the college softball coaches. Big Ten Conference The Big Ten was established in 1896 and its eleven member schools share a common mission of research, graduate, professional and undergraduate teaching and public service. The game of football has really taken over my life. My father is a high school football coach in Texas. Needless to say I have moved numerous amounts of times. I've attended a total of nine different schools and three different high schools. Football The Big West Conference was formed in the mid 1960's and is one of the major National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I conferences. The Central Collegiate Hockey Association, (CCHA), is a division I hockey only conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Windsurfing has also been called sailboarding or boardsailing and is a water sport that uses a board-and-sail device and combines elements of surfing and sailing. Wallyball, also known as rebound volleyball, is a fast-paced game that was was invented in Calabasas, CA, in the summer of 1979 by Joe Garcia. The word "Wallyball" is a combination of "ball" and "wall". Tug of war became an organized sport at the end of the 19th century when organized clubs were formed. When Baron Pierre de Coubertin revived the Olympic Games, tug of war was featured on the programme of the Paris Olympic Games in 1900. Tug Of War Rules John Collins, an American Naval officer who competed in that 1st triathlon, took the idea to Hawaii, where he combined 3 major endurance races, the 3.8-kilometre Waikiki Rough Water Swim, the 180-kilometre Around-Oahu Bike Race and the 42.195-kilometre Honolulu Marathon, into a single race to be known as the Ironman Triathlon. Triathlon facts Surfing is one of the oldest sports on earth. Many consider it an art form that is a blend of athletic ability and the comprehension of the power and beauty and power of nature. Surfing is also one of the few sports that creates its own culture and lifestyle. Early amateur scullers and oarsmen were also often boxers, with some rowing clubs also including boxing sections. Rowing was introduced at Oxford University in the late 1700s and in 1806 the sport of rowing was also introduced at Eton College. Boat clubs were introduced in America in the 1800's. Philadelphia's Schuylkill Navy, began in 1858, was the first rowing association and the first amateur sports organization. Paintball has now become the 4th largest alternative sport in the United states surpassing snowboarding. In 2002 over 8,700,000 people played paintball at least once each spending on average $44 per experience. Paintball has been played in many different ways in many different places. Orienteering is a worldwide sport in which participants use an accurate, detailed map and a compass to find checkpoints on a orienteering course. Orienteering can be enjoyed as a challenging walk in the woods or in a competition, where your race against time or others. Netball is a highly skilled and fast sport. The game was developed by an American basketball coach attempting to improve the skills of Basketball. He worked at Luton Teachers College in England where he introduced the sport of netball to many of the graduating teachers. The prototype of the mountain bikes were first developed in Marin County, Ca., north of San Francisco in 1977. Otis Guy, Gary Fisher, Joe Breeze and Craig Mitchell were the earliest designers, builders and promoters. Most people believe that motocross started after World War II, but the sport actually originated in England as cross-country races known as scrambles around 1920. It just wasn't called motocross back then. When the modern Olympic Games were were first held in 1896 in Greece, the legend of Pheidippides was revived by a 24.85 mile (40,000 meters) run from Marathon Bridge to the Olympic stadium in Athens. The Vikings are usually credited with being the inventors of luge sleds? They made them to slide down mountainsides in Olsofjord. The Vikings were actually conducting Luge races as early as 800 AD!
