Surfing is one of the oldest sports on earth. Many consider it an art form that is a blend of athletic ability and the comprehension of the power and beauty and power of nature. Surfing is also one of the few sports that creates its own culture and lifestyle. It seems likely that the Romans were taught falconry from the Greeks and, although the practice does not appear to have become very popular, there are references to Caesar using falcons to destroy pigeons carrying messages. |
