How to play croquet

THE RULES OF CROQUET

There are a number of different ways to play the tactical game of croquet, however the most popular is Association Croquet. The game is played by 2 players (or teams) each with 2 balls.

The object of the game is to be the 1st player to hit the finishing post with both balls, however this can only be achieved once you have knocked you balls through all the hoops in a specific order. See the diagram at the bottom of this page.

The game can be very tactical, however, as there are many of opportunities to gain extra shots and make life more difficult for your opponents.

A standard croquet set comes with 4 mallets and 4 balls, and you may vary the game - for example, Four players can play independently with one ball each.

Few people today have a championship-size croquet lawn (35 x 28 yards). Keeping to the Five- Four proportions is desirable but not critical, as croquet can be played just about anywhere. There are croquet clubs all over the world, with 10,000's of club members, and literally millions of back garden enthusiasts.

Recognizing cheerleading as a sport by Kelsey Synder I am writing my essay based on cheerleading, so many people do not believe that cheering is a sport. I have been a cheerleader since I was nine years old. I started cheering for the county on a Pop Warner team so I learned basic skills and the thrill of a football game and competitions.
