Spyglass Hill Golf Course derives its name from
Robert Louis Stevenson's famous novel, Treasure Island which was
published in 1863. Local folk lore has it that Stevenson once
wandered around the Spyglass area looking for ideas for his books.
Spyglass Hill is rated one of the toughest golf courses in the world from the Championship tees, it boasts a course rating of 75.3 and a slope rating of 148. The PGA Tour consistently lists Spyglass Hill's holes six , eight and sixteen as among the toughest on the tour, and during the 1999 U.S. Amateur, the stroke average of the field during medal play was over seventy nine.

The course is the annual co-host to the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, that used to be known as the Crosby. Spyglass Hill co-hosted the 1999 U.S. Amateur during medal play rounds, and hosts many other world-class amateur and professional events every year. Hockey Rule Changes Manitoba – Randy Carlyle, who led the Moose to a 178-133-49 record from 1996-2000, has been reappointed as Manitoba ’s head coach, replacing Stan Smyl. He spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach for the Washington Capitals. In addition, the Moose are preparing to move into a new home this fall, as the $133.5 million MTS Centre is slated to open in November. They’ll play their first four home games at the Winnipeg Arena.
