Olympic Games Field
Hockey consists of twelve women's teams and twelve men's teams. (The
number of women's teams was increased from ten teams to twelve in
2005 for the 2008 Olympic Games).
In 1998, former International
Olympic Committee President Juan Antonio Samaranch announced a
commitment to the sport when he stated that hockey will always have
a place in the Olympic Games. Performance Coaching IHF. We are very pleased to announce that the FIH with the cooperation of Asian Hockey Federation and Pakistan Hockey Federation will be organizing, a FIH High Performance Coaching Course, which will take place during the Men's Champions Trophy Tournament. The course will be held from Tuesday 30th November at 18:30 (dinner) to Tuesday 7th December 2004 (Breakfast) in Lahore, Pakistan. United States field Hockey History Modern field hockey began in England in the middle of the 19th century. The 1st men’s hockey club was formed in 1849(Blackheath). The Hockey Association was formed in London in 1886. The British army introduced field hockey to India and other British colonies which led to the 1st International hockey competition in 1895. |

The game of field hockey is played by many people all over the world. Historically it is one of the oldest sports and the "2nd largest team sport in the world". Hockey is a sport which requires a person to have a lot of speed, skill and endurance.
Field hockey camps stress both individual skills and team play with each participant. You get instruction in the latest stick-work techniques, scoring and shooting drills, team defense and attack tactics, goalkeeper training as well as taking part in small sided games and full field play.
Harris-Stowe State University can trace it's origins back to 1857 when it was founded by the St. Louis Public Schools as a normal school and then became the 1st public teacher education college west of the Mississippi River and the 12th such institution in the USA.
Milligan College is a member institution of the National Association of Intercollegiate athletics and competes in the NAIA Appalachian Athletic Conference in fourteen intercollegiate sports: for men, baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, and tennis; and women's, basketball, cross country, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball.
Over five hundred and fifty BIG EAST athletes have taken out All America status and many have won individual NCAA national championships.
