FIELD HOCKEY STUDY COURSE
Course Program: The course will include Welcome dinner and introductory meeting
Lectures and practical coaching sessions by FIH Master Coaches, discussions, special presentations, contributions from participants Game analysis of the Men's Champions Trophy Tournament Official closing dinner & presentation of certificates of participation. Note: All the participants will receive the complete course programmer after their final registration. They should bring their sports uniform and hockey sticks for practical sessions. |

Selection: For the selection of the participants, FIH Development & Coaching Committee will look at the qualifications of the applicants, but will also make sure that as many countries as possible will have the opportunity to participate. The FIH will send invitations to register to selected participants. Those applicants who could not be selected will also receive a reply. When sending in applications, National Associations shall give their order of priority, if they apply for more than one coach. The FIH will inform the National Associations about the status of their coaches as some applications may, regretfully, not be accepted, possibly because of the large number of applications. Field hockey camps stress both individual skills and team play with each participant. You get instruction in the latest stick-work techniques, scoring and shooting drills, team defense and attack tactics, goalkeeper training as well as taking part in small sided games and full field play. |
Men’s Field Hockey started in the U.S.A. with the 1st official game between the Germantown Cricket Club (near Philadelphia) and the Westchester Field Hockey Club (Rye New York) in 1928.
The NCAA allows each division I field hockey program 12 scholarships and 6.3 scholarships are available in division II.
