East Mississippi Community College offers a wide variety of technical-career programs designed to prepare students for immediate entry into the workforce and academic programs for transfer to a four year college.
The college is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to award the Associate of Arts degree and the Associate of Applied Science degree.
 
East Mississippi Community College is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Intercollegiate athletic competition is offered in 8 varsity sports as follows: Football, Golf, Baseball, Softball, Men and Women’s Soccer and Men and Women’s Basketball. east Mississippi athletics participate in what is considered the most competitive community college league in the country, the Mississippi Junior College Athletic Association (MJCAA). the Institution's athletic programs are committed to providing an excellent opportunity for student athletes to participate in their favorite sports and showcase their individual talents before moving on to 4 year schools or starting a career.
