EAST CENTRAL COLLEGE

East Central College was founded in 1968, the School was established to serve the educational needs of the residents in east central Missouri. Classes were first held one year after voters created the college district in temporary facilities at Union Memorial Auditorium.

 
That same year a one hundred and fourteen acre tract of land was purchased for what is now the main campus.

The campus area now covers over two hundred acres and the school also has facilities in Washington, Sullivan and St. Clair. Courses are also offered in Rolla and other communities in the area.

Today, the institution serves more than three thousand students each semester. While many are recent high school graduates, others are also adults students who have returned to school for different of reasons.

East Central College also provides training for business and industry, summer camps for young people and community programs and seminars that cover a wide range of topics.

The College is a member institution of the National Junior College Athletic Association and offers the following intercollegiate sports: Men's Soccer, Women's Volleyball and Softball.
