DUTCHESS community
COLLEGE
Dutchess Community college was founded in 1957 and is Part of the
State University of New York (SUNY) system. The
College is accredited by the
Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges. Dutchess Community
College . the Institution has the lowest tuition cost of any university or
college in the state.
Of all Dutchess County residents who attend State University of New York (SUNY)
schools, sixty six percent attend Dutchess Community College. Of all
residents who are enrolled at a college in New York State full-time, forty
four percent are enrolled at the college. This number increases to seventy
one percent for part-time students.
Class sizes at the institution are small, with the average class size being
less than twenty students. the school was the 1st college in the state to
offer a comprehensive jointly-registered transfer program in teacher
education (with SUNY New Paltz), covering birth through 12trh grade.

Dutchess Community College is a
member institution of the National Junior College Athletic
Association (NJCAA), region XV, Division III , Mid-Hudson
Athletic conference. The following intercollegiate sports are offered:
Women's: Tennis, Volleyball, Basketball and Softball. Men's:
Soccer, Basketball, Tennis and Baseball.
Co-ed: Bowling, Golf, Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track.
School colors are Blue and Buff and the college nickname is
Falcons / Lady Falcons.
