Collin County Community College District is a community and student centered institution committed to strengthening character, developing skills and challenging the intellect.

The College provides programs that are affordable as well as small classes and professors who are dedicated to teaching the foundation for success. the institution boasts a Weekend College program that gives students the flexibility to take a full load of classes on the weekend thus reducing the time to complete a degree. Collin County Community College is the only junior college in the state of Texas that has dual-admissions agreements with five major Texas Universities.

The school's athletic program with the original nickname Express, started competing in intercollegiate sports programs in fall 1988. the College's first sports were women's volleyball and men's basketball . The athletic program recently adopted a new mascot, the cougar.
In the 1989-90 season, the women's and men's tennis teams began play with the men's team winning the NJCAA National Championship for Division II in its 1st year.

The baseball program started in the fall of 1990, playing a fifty six game schedule in the spring against some of the top ranked colleges in the country. A women's basketball team was added for the 1993-94 season.

Due to budgetary constraints, the volleyball, softball and baseball programs were cut in Spring 2003.

Cougar athletics is dedicated to high standards both in the classroom and on the field or court. Athletes get a great education, as they play competitive athletic teams.

Intercollegiate athletic programs offer a high level of competition at local, state, regional and national levels, with scholarship money available for athletes in all sports at the College.
Many Cougar athletes have continued their education by earning athletic scholarships at 4 year universities.
