Cleveland state community COLLEGE

Cleveland State Community College is an accredited public comprehensive junior college that operates within the governance of the Tennessee Board of Regents.
 
There are about Three thousand five hundred credit students and One thousand five hundred non-credit students enrolled at Cleveland State Community College in a normal fall semester. The credit student group is split about evenly in the choice of career-technical or transfer programs. The average age of all students is Twenty eight years. All people are educated at Cleveland State and the student population is non-racially identifiable. There are over Two hundred employees at the school including more than Seventy full time faculty members.

94% of the faculty hold Doctor's or Master's degrees. The One hundred and five acre campus has ten major buildings housing modern classrooms, laboratories, and student activity centers. Additional features include a multi-media center of emphasis, an excellent library, computer labs, a Four hundred seat theatre, a three thousand seat gymnasium, tennis courts and athletic fields. Cleveland State offers classes throughout the service area which includes McMinn, Monroe, Bradley, Meigs and Polk Counties. The college has offices and classrooms in Vonore and Athens.

The College is located in the scenic corridor of hills and valleys of Southeast Tennessee, Cleveland State Community College presents an attractive atmosphere in which to enjoy varied facets of campus life . The community has an abundance of recreational opportunities and service facilities. The school is situated between Exits 25 and 27 on Interstate 75, thirty miles N/E of Chattanooga.

Conference: Tennessee Junior Community College Athletic Association (Eastern Division)

Historically the Cleveland State Community College Cougar individuals and teams have compiled outstanding records. The school is the only Tennessee 2 year college to participate in national tournaments in all sports that are sanctioned by the Tennessee Junior Community College Athletic Association. Individually, athletes in women's and men';s basketball, baseball, women's softball and golf have been awarded All-American status.
