The University is situated in Cleveland, Ohio, and is ranked as the top college in the state, Case Western Reserve University is home to over 10,000 undergraduate and professional students.
The college has a  8:1 student to teacher ratio, and the recently completed $29.5 million Kelvin Smith Library. Other student services include Educational Support Services, Career Center, many minority programs and International Student Services.

The institution offers over 60 undergraduate majors and numerous minors, electives, double majors, and integrated studies programs.

Case sponsors nineteen varsity sports teams. The Spartans are charter members of the University Athletic Association and share the belief that athletic and academic excellence are of equal important. The university has proven that theory during the past thirty years with a number of All-Americans and Academic All-Americans.

Case Western Reserve University is a member institution of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III level in the University Athletic Association.

The Spartan women had three relay teams earn All-American status. The 400 yard medley relay team of freshman Hannah Webbe, sophomore Elaine Hillenmeyer, junior Kristen Prijatel, and Meredith Stakem finished 12th (4:02.88), the 800 yard freestyle relay team of Webber, Stakem, Alicia Kendig, and Liz Badziong finished 12th (7:50.77), and the 400 yard freestyle relay team of Stakem, Kendig, Hillenmeyer, and Prijatel finished 11th (3:35.42).

Case Western Reserve University is one of the country's top research institutions. The College was founded in 1826 and was built around a unique merger of the Western Reserve University and Case Institute of Technology.

Renewed interest in the effects of creatine use by a large number of American athletes from the professional level on down has led to a number of studies, many of them producing conflicting findings.

They found that both patterns of brisk walking lead to a decrease in diastolic blood pressure. Significant reductions in feelings of tension and anxiety were found with brisk walking of both patterns. Maximal oxygen uptake increased more with short bouts than with long, however.

He said that until the National School for Excellence in Arts and Sports is functioning we need to identify at the level of secondary schools, those young people who clearly have exceptional talent and develop individual education plans for assist them.
