THE GAME OF escoba

How to play the card game escoba

Escoba is a game for 2 to 4 player and is a trick taking type of card game that came from Spain. The game is played with the traditional Spanish Deck of playing cards also called naipes.

Escoba is derived from an old Italian card game called "Scopa di Quindici". Escoba translates as "broom" which refers to a move in the game where a player "sweeps" all of the playing cards from the board in one turn.

The objective of the game is to get a set number of points which are agreed upon before the start of the game. Play continues regardless of the number of hands played until this agreed score is reached by one of the players. The dealer shuffles the cards and gives them to the player on his left to cut. The dealer then deals three cards to every player starting with the player on his right and finally puts four cards face up in the middle of the card table. The leader makes the 1st move; every move is about adding the value of cards together to make fifteen.

When one of the players uses in his turn all the uncovered cards in the middle of the table it is called an escoba (sweep)

Without proper treatment or acknowledgement, teenage depression can become a very serious condition. For many teens, depression can have a negative effect on their school performance and social activities.

Have you ever witnessed any inappropriate behavior of parents toward children, coaches or officials at a youth sporting event? Before you answer “no” so emphatically, take into consideration that yelling at a referee for missing a call at a 5-year-old soccer game qualifies as inappropriate behavior.
