COLLEGE
Bunker Hill Community College is a multi-campus urban educational
institution, the school's main campus is situated in the historic
Charlestown area of Boston, Mass. A 2nd campus is situated in nearby
Chelsea, Mass.; 5 satellites are located in the local communities of
Cambridge, Somerville, Chinatown, Revere and Boston’s South End.
The college was founded in 1973 by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts,
Bunker Hill Community College has an enrollment of more than seven thousand
eight hundred students in day, evening, weekend, internet based and distance
education courses and programs. The school offers more than Sixty five
associate degree and certificate programs that prepare students for
successful employment and transfer to 4 year colleges and universities. The
college is internationally recognized for it's development of individualized
and alternative methods of instruction, BHCC is a leader in distance
education technologies that enhance and strengthen the learning environment.

The institution also has expansive course offerings in English
as a Second Language and Adult Basic Education.
Bunker Hill CC is one of the largest colleges in the state's
community college system, it incorporates multi-cultural and
international perspectives in its courses, programs and institutional
climate. The student population includes students from more than Ninety
countries, and students of color comprising more than 1/2 of the student
body. BHCC is one of the most diverse and cosmopolitan colleges in New
England. The average age of students is Twenty eight, nearly 2/3 are
women and the majority of all students are employed while attending
college.
