ATHLETICS AND COLLEGE HISTORY

Brigham Young University is a private college with a stated mission to develop the faith of it's students as well as their character and intellect. The school's origins can be traced back to Utah’s colorful pioneer heritage and also to Brigham Young Academy, the original school that was founded  in 1875.

The college continues to provide career education in an atmosphere that supports the principles and ideals of its sponsor, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The college is situated forty five miles south of Salt Lake City in Provo, Utah. The university has a campus of about 600-acre campus which includes 333 buildings. Brigham Young students come from all fifty states, the District of Columbia and over one hundred and thirty foreign countries.

Brigham Young university is a member institution of the National collegiate Athletic association, Division I and competes in the Mountain West Conference.
